My little Tanganiyka

DOMINANT MALE TROPHEUS SP.RED MOLIRIO

i'm also a great fan of Tropheus(pictures),Sphatodus,Neolamprologus,Julidochromis & Semichromis.

Beatiful group of african cichlids from unusual lake Tanganiyka, which haven't been change for last 20 mln years. All this fish are endemic, which means you can find them only in this lake.

On above pictures you can see my Tropheus moori "moliro"(bottom left & right---both females) & "chipimbi"(top left) and Tropheus dubois(still young-top right).in future plans i want to added Spathodus(goby cichlids),Julidochromis reganii and Semichromis as well.

Tropheus are herbivorus, and they shouldn't be feed any meat based food.In other case it will caused a "bloat" and slow and painfull date.in every shop you can find specialy desighned food for herbivorus cichlids from that Lake.also you can use spinach, lettuce, cucumber and peas.

As you see on above pictures they mouth are specialy designed to feed on alge(in natural habitat this alge type calls "spirulina".

FLUVAL heater
TETRA Tec internal filter(use as powerhead)
air pump
sand(no gravel)
bogwood and mopani wood
coconut shells
PLANTS:
Anubias nana
Anubias lanceolata
All fish are constant diggers, that why i used a sand insted of gravel(safer). Also they are living peaceful in their comunity, even when they spawning(only expierienced with Geophagus red head Tapajos and Guinacara geayi) they are not attacking another tank mates, just protecting they spawning sites(teritories).
if you required any aditional info, please let me know.i will be trying to describe every of those fish separately.
enjoy my blog :)
kind regards
Tom(alias Katmandu)
